The New Medicare Conditions of Participation Workshop

An Intensive CoP Training for Home Health Agencies



PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Compliance with the revised Home Health Conditions of Participation (CoPs) will be required effective January 13, 2018. Is your home health agency ready to comply with new conditions and standards related to Infection Control and Quality Assurance/ Performance Improvement?

Attend this one-day, interactive workshop with Nancy McCoy and Mary Lou Connolly to ensure that your agency won’t be caught unprepared. Nancy and Mary Lou are industry consultants who have worked with many home health agencies to improve compliance with the regulations and ensure satisfactory survey performance. They will provide attendees with practical tools and guidance during this workshop, including lecture, discussion and group work.

The focus of this program will be the revised Conditions of Participation with a brief review of all home health CoPs. The information covered throughout the duration of the workshop pertains to Medicare-Certified Home Health agencies only.


PROGRAM GOALS:
  • Identify the new Home Health Conditions of Participation (CoPs) that will become effective January 13, 2018.

  • Cite at least two requirements that have been eliminated effective January 13, 2018.

  • Return to your home health agency with knowledge of how to develop an action plan to ensure your agency is in compliance with the revised CoPs.


WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Attendance is recommended for home health agency staff responsible for compliance, performance improvement and/or direct supervision of clinicians.

Mary Lou Connolly and Nancy McCoy were Administrator and Director of Clinical Services at UCSD Home Care for over 10 years. After the medical center closed the home care operation in 2002, Nancy and Mary Lou started McCoy & Connolly Consulting.

Their clients vary from small “Mom and Pop” agencies to multi-hospital systems with home health, academic medical center agencies and free standing community organizations. Their work consists of assisting agencies to: maintain regulatory compliance via mock surveys, operate more efficiently through the assessment of key agency processes, develop managers through education and mentoring, implement an effective patient care delivery model and develop and implement an acceptable Plan of Correction during and post survey.

Prior to their experience at UCSD Nancy and Mary Lou worked in a variety of health care settings including home health.



CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations are subject to 20% handling fee. There will be NO REFUNDS issued for cancellations received within 10 business days prior to program. Cancellations must be in writing. Refunds will not be made for no-shows. However, substitutions will be allowed. Should CAHSAH® cancel the program, a full registration fee refund will be issued.



CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION
& CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEUs)

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (Provider #CEP2463) for up to six and one half (6.5) contact hours of continuing education. You must be present for the entire workshop to earn Continuing Education Units. No partial credits can be given. Certificates are distributed at the close of the program.
