Home Health PEPPER: Are You Hot?

This webinar will provide a review of the Home Health PEPPER Reports and help you understand the importance of analyzing the data. PEPPER compares a home health and hospice’s Medicare claims data statistics with aggregate Medicare data from the nation, the MAC jurisdiction and their state. The PEPPER data provides a target area percent that allows the home health agency and hospice to know its billing patterns and to determine if they are at risk for being targeted for claims audits. If the agency’s target area percent is at or above the national 80th percentile, that entity is identified as at risk for improper Medicare payments.

Providers can use PEPPER by:
  • Sharing the data internally
  • Guiding auditing and monitoring
  • Looking for unusual increases/decreases
  • Identifying root causes for concerning changes or trends
  • Reviewing medical records
  • Being proactive and preventive

Agencies are being scrutinized by medical review contractors as a result of the data on these reports, so agencies need to fully understand them and understand what the agency can do to improve their data. Join us for this HOT webinar on understanding the Home Health PEPPER!

  • Define PEPPER and what the intent of the reports are
  • List the Target Areas addressed in the Home Health PEPPER
  • Identify Target Areas that the agency needs to work on
