QAPI Compliance Under the New Home Health CoPs

OVERVIEW

An effective QAPI program is critical to running an efficient home health
agency and is now a major requirement under the new Medicare Conditions of Participation. Establishing a successful program can be difficult for even
seasoned home health administrators who need to understand QAPI concepts and ensure all agency staff are involved.

Not only does QAPI help your agency improve patient outcomes and agency outcomes, a successful QAPI program is vital under the 5 Star Ratings system and Value-Based Purchasing model, which is Pay for Performance! Home Health agencies that cannot improve their outcomes will have a difficult time
establishing long term viability.

As you progress in your Quality Indicators, you will also find that you are in
greater compliance with your clinical documentation, processes, and home visits. This will lessen your risk of having condition level deficiencies or Immediate Jeopardy, and will also lessen the risk of sanctions against your agency.

Sharon has been in healthcare management and administration for 30 years. For the past 25 years, she has been actively involved in the home health industry, from field nurse to Executive Director to Senior Managing Partner / Healthcare Consultant at 5 Star Healthcare Consultants. Sharon has worked in and managed certified home health, hospice, private duty, home infusion and DME as a regional and executive director.

Her expertise is in identifying issues, solving problems, and teaching and implementing successful action plans. Additionally, Sharon is a renowned speaker at state and national conferences. Her presentations focus on regulatory compliance teaching participants how to develop and implement simple, but effective Quality Management programs, Competency programs, and case management models in order to achieve continued survey readiness. She also teaches how to achieve outcome enhancement through OASIS and documentation strategies, patient satisfaction results and care.

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (Provider # CEP2463) for up to one and one half (1.5) contact hours of continuing education. You must be present for the entire webinar to earn continuing education credit.

At the completion of the webinar, you will be directed to complete an online evaluation form, which is required in order to obtain a certificate of completion. Please allow 1-2 weeks for your certificate to arrive via mail.
