The Hospice Survey process is changing!


The OIG has spurred regulatory changes regarding the Hospice Survey! We will ensure you are up to date with all of the changes, and how it may impact your survey experience! Preparation is your best defense! It is imperative to understand the current focus from the different survey agencies. Are you familiar with the different type of surveys and citations you could receive, as well as the common risk areas? Come learn what CMS, CDPH, TJC, CHAP & ACHC are finding in their hospice surveys and how to avoid these issues. The focus from the data will be how to ensure you build everyday processes that will keep you from these citations! Bonus: Learn the five-point method of writing a successful plan of correction. Come to this workshop to learn and bring these skills back to your program so that you are prepared for any survey activity that may arise!

Annette Lee, RN, MS, COS-C, HCS-D

Annette is a registered nurse, with a Masters in Health Care Administration, practicing since 1990, with the majority of her nursing experience in home health and hospice. For over a decade she worked with the CMS Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) where she provided review of, and education on home health and hospice documentation. Annette quickly became the Clinical Consultant for Cahaba and CGS, doing outreach and provider education regarding Medicare reimbursement issues and effective documentation strategies, assisting providers with ADRs and appeals. Today she marries together her experience in the real world and the inside knowledge of Medicare to ensure providers can meet the requirements of CMS, and ensure compliant, efficient operations for both survey and reimbursement.

Cancellations are subject to 20% handling fee. There will be NO REFUNDS issued for cancellations received within 10 business days prior to program. Cancellations must be in writing. Refunds will not be made for no-shows. However, substitutions will be allowed. Should CAHSAH® cancel the program, a full registration fee refund will be issued.


Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (Provider #CEP17394) for five and one half (5.5) contact hours of continuing education. You must be present for the entire workshop to earn Continuing Education Units.
