Is Your Agency Prepared?
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Ensure you are prepared for a survey every day; not just every 3 years! This workshop will give up to date information on all aspects of this critical issue. The audience will interact with our experienced consultants, Sharon Fredrichs and Stephanie Phillips, of S & S Home Care Consulting, regarding tools, hints and practical suggestions to attain and maintain compliance with the Conditions of Participation. Participants will also have an opportunity to develop correction plans. Join the experts from CDPH, and our consultants to review this process to ensure your agency is always survey ready.
Program Topics:
- Identify the top ten deficiencies cited for Home Health providers during surveys
- Discuss any changes in the federal and state survey and enforcement process for Home Health providers
- Understand the types and levels of surveys
- Understand your responsibilities to prepare for a survey and your rights during the survey
- Identify methods to utilize CoPs and Interpretive Guidelines to manage compliance in daily operations
- Interactive development of recognizing potential deficiencies and utilizing your QAPI program

FACULTY

Stephanie Phillips, RN, BSN, MBA
S&S Home Care Consulting
Stephanie has been an RN since 1978. She received her MBA from San Diego State University in 2011. For the past 25 years, she has worked in home healthcare, holding positions including Clinical Director, General Manager, Vice President of Business Development, and Area Vice President of Operations. She has worked in both large and small proprietary and non-profit organizations, and as a legal nurse consult. Stephanie is an active member of both local and state home care organizations, including the San Diego Regional Home Care Council, where she has held the positions of Chair of the Council and Co-chair of the Medicare Section. She is an active member of the California Association of Health Services at Home, having served on the Membership Committee and the Political Action Committee. Stephanie has successfully completed licensure and certification surveys with multiple state agencies, Joint Commission, Accreditation Commission for Health Care, and Community Health Accreditation Partner. She has developed: initial and ongoing strategic plans, start-up and annual budgets, quality control programs, educational programs, orientation programs, and clinical programs. She has extensive experience in operations, regulatory compliance, business development, and education. Her belief that home care provides the highest quality and most cost-effective care is evident in her consulting work.

Sharon Fredrichs, RN, BSN, PHN, CPHQ
S&S Home Care Consulting
Over forty years of home health administrative, managerial, and quality assurance experience. Sharon Fredrichs has dedicated her career to providing high quality patient care. As a goal directed, visionary leader with operational, communication and human relations skills, she offers a comprehensive understanding and application of home health regulations, evidence based clinical standards, and development of managed care programs in home health. Extensive survey preparation and recovery in many states. Accreditation Commission for Health Care (certified consultant) and Joint Commission survey preparation with home health, hospice, and private duty. Survey recovery includes plans of actions, education of inter-disciplinary teams, inter-departments, and ongoing plans and development to sustain improvement. Intense commitment mentoring managers and clinicians to achieve competence and confidence with licensure and eternal survey readiness. Sharon is an active member pf the San Diego Regional Home Care Council and serves on multiple CAHSAH committees.

NO REFUNDS issued for cancellations received within 10
business days prior to program.
Cancellations must be in writing. Refunds
will not be made for no-shows. However, substitutions will
be allowed. Should CAHSAH® cancel the program, a full registration fee
refund will be issued.
CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION
& CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEUs)
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (Provider
#CEP17394) for five and one half (5.5) contact hours of continuing education. You must be present
for the entire workshop to earn Continuing Education Units.
