Hospice PEPPER Reports

PEPPER Reports have swiftly become the forefront of everyone's concern when it comes to Medicare Medical Review.  The PEPPER which is data that is gathered strictly from the from processed claims information, carries a very heavy weight in the decision – to Medically Review an agency or NOT.  Many of the targets calculated within the PEPPER give hospices detail insight into the claims’ details that may have been overlooked causing issue with the target calculations.  Hospices should be heightened aware that everyone they do not want to review their PEPPER data, indeed are!  This session will take you through key elements in the PEPPER targets and how to review the data in your organization to determine how they can be improved, if needed.

Melinda A. Gaboury, with more than 29 years in home care, has over 20 years of executive speaking and educating experience, including extensive day to day interaction with home care and hospice professionals. She routinely conducts Home Care and Hospice Reimbursement Workshops and speaks at state association meetings throughout the country. Melinda has profound experience in Medicare PDGM training, billing, collections, case-mix calculations, chart reviews and due diligence. UPIC, RA, ADR & TPE appeals with all Medicare MACs have become the forefront of Melinda’s current impact on the industry. She is currently serving on the NAHC/HHFMA Advisory Board and Work Group and is Treasurer on the Home Care Association of Florida Board of Directors. Melinda is also the author of the Home Health OASIS Guide to OASIS-D1 and Home Health Billing Answers, 2021.




Tammy Stewart, RN, CPHQ, COS-C

Tammy Stewart is a Registered Nurse who joined Healthcare Provider Solutions, Inc. (HPS) as a Clinical Consultant in August 2021. Tammy's commitment to service and compassionate nursing care started 30 years ago when she began providing care to patients as a home health nurse. She is a member of the National Association for Healthcare Quality and holds a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification. As a part of the HPS clinical consulting team, Tammy provides support and solutions to home health and hospice agencies across the country to achieve regulatory compliance. Tammy's experience includes developing and implementing quality and performance improvement programs (QAPI) for home health and hospice in addition to performing data analysis, clinical chart reviews, onsite billing audit reviews and provider education.


CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations are subject to 20% handling fee. There will be NO REFUNDS issued for cancellations received within 10 business days prior to program. Cancellations must be in writing. Refunds will not be made for no-shows. However, substitutions will be allowed. Should CAHSAH® cancel the program, a full registration fee refund will be issued.


CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION
& CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEUs)

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (Provider #CEP17394) for one and one half (1.5) contact hours of continuing education for each Part and four and one half (4.5) for the Series. You must be present for the entire workshop to earn Continuing Education Units.
No partial credits can be given.
Certificates are distributed at the close of the program.
