PROGRAM OVERVIEW

OASIS continues to evolve! Based on the most current CMS guidance available, this workshop provides the nation's best preparation on the 27 new OASIS-E items and guidance, scheduled to become effective January 1, 2023. This engaging, up-to-the-minute education is developed and presented by the OASIS Answers' Blueprint Team and is targeted for field data collectors, clinical supervisors, OASIS educators and reviewers, quality improvement staff, and those preparing for the COS-C Exam.

Experience the comprehensive and nationally acclaimed two-day Blueprint for OASIS Accuracy workshop and learn to confidently teach, audit and collect OASIS-E items accurately. Through guided, relatable, expert instruction, and participation in problem-solving discussions to code more than 50 application scenarios, join the dedicated OASIS Answers' team as we master the new items and guidance for 2023 together.

Learning Objectives:
  • Selecting OASIS responses that accurately represent clinical assessment findings
  • Providing accurate data for quality measurement and payment
  • Documenting OASIS data collection compliant with CMS resources and instructions

    Rather than provide opinions, assumptions, or unfounded interpretations, the Blueprint presenters will model reliance on CMS guidance documents and provide and demonstrate strategies for how to become more familiar with the new resources, and how to find defendable answers to your OASIS questions.

COS-C Exam (Optional certification; separate fees apply)


The Certificate for OASIS Specialist-Clinical (COS-C) Exam is a voluntary certificate examination for those interested in demonstrating and establishing their expertise and commitment to OASIS data accuracy.

Administered the day following the Blueprint for OASIS Accuracy Workshop, the scope of the COS-C exam is similar to the Blueprint Workshop agenda, covering CMS guidelines related to OASIS time points, regulations, patient populations, and OASIS-D1 item specific scoring. Candidates who successfully pass the examination are awarded the COS-C designation.

LINDA KRULISH, PT, MHS, COS-C
President

Linda is a physical therapist with a Masters in Health Sciences. She has worked in the home health industry since 1988, is a nationally recognized expert on OASIS, the Hospice Item Set and quality measurement and improvement. She also serves the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and its contractors, assisting in home health and hospice quality measures development, data set refinement, and maintenance and updating of Guidance Manuals and other key provider education resources for the Hospice Item Set and OASIS. She provides oversight and subject matter expertise to manage contracts for CMS's Home Health Quality Reporting Program, CMS's Hospice Quality Reporting Program, and the CMS Home Health Value Based Purchasing Technical Assistance Contract. She served as the President and a Founding Member of the OASIS Certificate and Competency Board (OCCB) and continues to oversee the COS-C Exam as Chair of the Exam Review Task Force. Linda is President and Founder of OASIS Answers, Inc.












MEGAN BERNIER, MSPT, COS-C
Post- Acute Care Clinical Manager
OASIS Answers, Inc.

Megan is a physical therapist with a Masters in Physical Therapy. She has worked in the home health industry since 2010 as a field clinician, as well as in supervisory and administrative positions supporting home health quality improvement, regulatory compliance, clinical documentation, and operations. Megan currently supports OAI's post-acute care work with provider education, guidance manual work, and CMS Help Desks support that provides guidance on data collection of OASIS, the MDS, the IRF-PAI and the LTCH CARE Data Set. She has a passion and appreciation for the critical need for OASIS accuracy and is a knowledgeable and passionate national OASIS educator. Megan holds the Certificate for OASIS Specialist-Clinical (COS-C) designation and serves as a Post-Acute Care Clinical Manager with OASIS Answers, Inc.

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations are subject to 20% handling fee. There will be NO REFUNDS issued for cancellations received within 10 business days prior to program. Cancellations must be in writing. Refunds will not be made for no-shows. However, substitutions will be allowed. Should CAHSAH® cancel the program, a full registration fee refund will be issued.


CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION
& CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEUs)

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (Provider #CEP17394) and by the California Board of Physical Therapy PTB (Provider #3780) for thirteen (13) contact hours of continuing education. You must be present for the entire workshop to earn Continuing Education Units. No partial credits can be given. Certificates are distributed at the close of the program.
