SESSION OVERVIEW

This class will include all the updates to OASIS including the most recent Q&A, changes to OASIS-E1, proposed additions to the OASIS, and proposed changes to PDGM related to OASIS. We will emphasize training in functional OASIS items, including the GG items essential to success in the new Discharge Function outcome of the Value-Based Purchasing (VBP). Agencies are struggling with Improvement in Dyspnea and Improvement in Oral Medication Management in VBP, so we will spend quality time with M1400 and M2020.  M1033 is a multi-purpose item therefore it is important to answer it accurately and support your answers with documentation. M1033, along with the J items for pain and falls, and potential outcomes will be discussed.

Objectives:

  1. Identify current and proposed changes to OASIS.
  2. Explain the Discharge function outcome.
  3. Explain accurate responses in GG functional scenarios.
  4. Explain how to respond to M1400, M2020 and M1033 for best accuracy and outcomes.
  5. Identify potential new outcomes related to J1800/J1900 and J0510/J0520/J0530.
