Praba Koomson

Praba Koomson is a highly motivated and talented doctoral-prepared healthcare leader and academic educator with experience across the care continuum. Praba has proven expertise in the implementation of strategic, operational, and innovative approaches to cross-continuum care delivery in diverse backgrounds including Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States, specializing in population health, practice research, behavioral health, and interprofessional collaborative practice. Her passion is design and implementation of care delivery for individuals and communities in their lived environments, focused on care that aligned with their values, choices, and preferences and what matters most.
Praba obtained her baccalaureate nursing and psychology degree from the University of Ghana. She subsequently obtained her Master of Science in general practice and primary health with focus on inter-professional collaborative practice from the University of Westminster, United Kingdom. She worked in the national health system for twelve years before relocating to California. She obtained a Post-Masters Nurse Educator certification from the San Jose State university and is an assistant professor in nursing. She obtained her Doctor of Nursing practice degree from the California State University - Fresno State & San Jose State University. She holds a post-doctoral certificate from Cornell University in executive leadership. She speaks nationally and internationally on a range of health and social care issues and is both an author and academically published. She has been grant-funded for her work with different organizations. She sits on various boards nationally and internationally.
