Medicare CoPs & Interpretive Guidelines

Revised to reflect changes to Appendix B released April 2024

This resource includes the new CMS Interpretive Guidelines with the corresponding G-Tags which are used by surveyors when determining compliance with the CoPs. The Survey Procedures have been updated to correspond with the COPs. The interpretive guidelines have changed significantly since the last revision. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services replaced probe questions, pre-survey activities, or forms with Home Health Survey Procedures.  Explanations of the types of surveys are included in the beginning of the resource.
