Hospice Manager Certificate Program - Las Vegas
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The goal of the Hospice Manager Certificate Program (HMCP®) is to assist you in learning fundamental management principals and information related to your role as a manager in a hospice organization.
Critical elements of management include developing your skills as a leader, enhancing your understanding of regulatory compliance at the local, state and national level, learning budgeting principals and their impact on clinical and administrative operations in your organization, and improving your abilities to manage essential human resource issues, like coaching and certain employment laws. The HMCP provides specific information and concrete examples to help you strengthen your ability to manage a department or an entire hospice organization.
The HMCP is a three-module curriculum:

General Learning Objectives and Expected Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the HMCP, participants will be able to:
- Identify new skills to improve your individual management style
- Understand the various state and federal laws impacting hospices and your role as a hospice manager
- Identify key elements of a hospice budget
- Understand the impact of reimbursement on daily operations
- Learn coaching skills to improve your performance as a hospice manager
- Recognize employment laws pertinent to managing your hospice staff and volunteers, and how and when to get assistance should a human resource issue arise

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
The Hospice Manager Certificate Program HMCP® was designed for front-line supervisors, new or established business owners, administrators or assistant administrators, directors or assistant directors, CEOs, COOs, operations managers, human resource managers, finance and marketing managers, case managers, clinical nurse supervisors, DPCS, DON, hospice managers, office managers, emerging or middle managers, or any middle management personnel of a Medicare-certified hospice agency. More experienced managers will gain insights and a refreshed understanding of hospice.
FACULTY
Sharon Seaton, RN, BSN, CHPN, HCS-O, HCS-D, CCS-HH
Sharon Seaton has 34 years of varied Home Health and Hospice experience in clinical and senior management, as well as experience in compliance in both for-profit and non-profit organizations. Her focus has been on quality, compliance, and education. As an Executive Director her organization was awarded the "Hospice of the Year" designation for growth and quality scores. She also was the recipient of a Rotary International grant for rural hospice care. She has also worked as a Quality Assurance Reviewer for Home Health coding, OASIS and Hospice Coding Services. Currently, she is a Clinical Product Development Specialist at Corridor. Sharon has been a featured speaker at conferences across the U.S. showcasing both Hospice and Home health coding and compliance.
Joanne Ford, RN
Joanne Ford is a Registered Nurse with over 35 years of experience in the hospice and post-acute setting. Having held many positions, from CNA to Clinical VP for a large nonprofit organization, Joanne understands the challenges of providers from all perspectives. She is particularly interested in improving operations for front line staff while ensuring revenue goals are achieved. Joanne believes the key to improving quality measures can be found in the way teams communicate with each other and their patients. Joanne is currently the Director of Hospice Clinical Operations for Corridor/Wellsky.
CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION & CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEUs)
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (Provider #CEP17394) for twenty-one (21) contact hours of continuing education. You must be present for the entire workshop to earn Continuing Education Units. No partial credits can be given. Certificates will be distributed at the completion of the program on the third day.
CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations are subject to a 20% handling fee. There will be no refunds issued for cancellations received within 10 business days prior to program. Cancellation requests must be in writing. Refunds will not be made for no-shows. However, substitutions will be allowed. Should CAHSAH® cancel the program, a full registration fee refund will be issued.

In order to sit for a certification exam on
March 29, 2024 in Las Vegas, you must first submit an eligibility application to NBHHC®. For eligibility requirements, please refer to the NBHHC® Candidate Handbook (available for download below).
