Is a Medicare Certified home health agency permitted to have a plan of care from more than one physician?

There is nothing prohibiting the home health agency from accepting orders (Plan of Care) from multiple physicians. However, there can only be one certifying and primary practitioner. The home health agency is responsible for coordinating the care from all providers writing orders. It is up to the agency to have procedures to operationalize this type of situation.
