1. What prompted you to enter the field of home care/home health or hospice?
I entered the field of home care and home health because of both personal and professional experiences that shaped my understanding of the profound impact quality care can have on individuals and families. My husband built this business with a deep commitment to serving others, and as I watched it grow, I saw firsthand the difference compassionate caregivers make in people’s lives.
Coming from an HR leadership background, I have always been dedicated to supporting people, whether in the workplace or beyond. But what truly deepened my connection to this field was my own family’s experience. I watched my mother care for her mother, doing everything she could while struggling with the emotional and physical toll that comes with being a family caregiver. After my grandmother passed, my mother carried so much guilt, wondering if she had done enough. Looking back, I know that having a caregiver step in to help would have made such a difference—not just in easing the burden of care, but in allowing my mother to fully be a daughter in those final moments.
That experience has stayed with me, and it’s what drives me to be part of this work. I know how important it is to provide families with the support they need, so they don’t have to carry the same burdens alone.
2. What other positions/jobs have you held in the past?
In my previous role, I served as Chief People Officer for SpotOn, a technology payments startup, where I led the HR function through significant growth and transformation. Prior to that, I spent over a decade building and leading HR teams and functions, primarily within technology startups like Poshmark and Dialpad, but also in big-box retail companies such as Sephora and Deckers Brands (which owns UGG, Teva, Sanuk, Hoka One One, etc.). My experience has spanned all aspects of human resources, people operations, talent strategy, and organizational development, equipping me with a deep understanding of how to support both employees and businesses in high-growth and evolving environments.
3. What motivates you each day?
What motivates me each day is, first and foremost, my family—especially my 7-year-old daughter, my husband, and our extended family. My daughter is my greatest inspiration; watching her grow, learn, and develop into her own person reminds me daily of the importance of hard work, perseverance, and setting a positive example. I want to show her that she can achieve anything she sets her mind to while also teaching her the value of kindness, dedication, and making a difference in the lives of others.
My husband and I have built a life together centered around our shared values, and his passion for our business and the impact we make in home care continues to fuel my own commitment to this work. Beyond that, my family's experiences—especially witnessing the challenges of caregiving firsthand—keep me grounded in the mission of supporting others. Knowing that what I do can help provide comfort and relief to families facing similar struggles keeps me motivated every single day.
4. What is one goal, either professional or personal, that you are working toward achieving or one accomplishment of which you are very proud?
One of my greatest goals—both personally and professionally—is to be the best mom I can be while also supporting my family in achieving our own goals and dreams. Balancing motherhood, career, and personal aspirations is not always easy, but it’s something I strive for every day. I want to show my 7-year-old daughter that she can pursue her passions while also being present and engaged in the lives of those she loves.
At the same time, I take great pride in supporting my husband and our family’s business, ensuring that we continue to grow and make an impact. Beyond our own household, I am deeply committed to giving back to the community, whether through the work we do in home care or by using my HR expertise to support local nonprofits. Knowing that I can make a difference—both within my family and in the lives of others—is something I am incredibly proud of.
5. What’s your favorite hobby or pastime?
My favorite hobbies and pastimes are animal welfare volunteering and music performance, particularly singing in a choir.
I have a deep passion for animal welfare and love dedicating time to volunteering with organizations that support rescue efforts, adoption, and care for animals in need. Giving back in this way is incredibly fulfilling and aligns with my commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
Music has also been a lifelong love of mine, and I find so much joy in singing and performing in a choir. There’s something truly special about creating harmonies with others and being part of something larger than yourself. Whether it’s through helping animals or making music, these activities bring me happiness and balance in my life.
6. What do you hope to gain from your membership in CAHSAH?
Through my membership with the California Association for Health Services at Home (CAHSAH), I hope to stay connected with the home care industry, keeping up with best practices, emerging trends, and policy changes that impact our work. Being part of this community allows me to engage with like-minded individuals who share similar values and goals—people who are equally passionate about providing quality care and making a difference in the lives of seniors and their families.
I also see this as an opportunity to learn, collaborate, and find inspiration from others who are dedicated to advancing home care services. With the growing senior population in our country, this industry is more critical than ever, and I want to be part of a network that supports, uplifts, and advocates for its continued growth and success. Having a strong community to lean on and share knowledge with will not only help me in my role but will also contribute to the broader mission of ensuring high-quality care for those who need it most.
