Message from the Chair | December 2024

Well, we have nearly made it through another year. Through payment changes, changes in regulations, staffing shortages and all, we are still here to make the lives of our patients better.

I want to send a special thank you to all our health care workers who work tirelessly to care for their patients and clients in their homes.  Our health care team will sacrifice during the holidays to make sure our patients and clients are cared for in their homes.  We work during the holidays to help those in need so that they can remain in their homes – or are able to be discharged from the hospitals and skilled facilities to enjoy the holidays at home.  We all provide services that are more cost effective and allow our patients and clients to remain where they want to be – at home.  We know that care at home is a cost-efficient alternative to the more costly stays in hospitals and nursing homes.  But it is not just the fact that our services are more cost-efficient. Our services make a huge difference in the lives of our patients and clients.

Home health, home care, and hospice staff have big hearts.  And it is not just the physical care we provide. Many times our teams will donate special items and food to our clients and patients who are in need in order to make their holidays a little brighter.  I am so proud to have spent so many years working with such a caring group of people.  We may never get rich financially, but the rewards are great by providing care to those at home 

I will always remember a patient we helped get out of a facility.  He had been there for several years.  Once he was able to return to the community with the assistance of home health and home care workers, he gave us a big ‘Thumbs Up’ and said “Thank you for giving me my life back!”  So during this holiday season, we all need to remember and cherish the difference we make in the lives of our clients, patients, and their families.
