Message from the Chair | January 2025

We made it through the holidays and now it is time to start a new year.  Time to get your calendars updated for 2025. And what better way than to check out the educational events that are being offered in 2025 by CAHSAH.  

To start the year off, CAHSAH is offering the Home Health Reimbursement Workshop for PDGM with updates to the Value-Based Purchasing Expansion.  And Hospice is not left out of the January calendar with the Hospice Reimbursement Workshop that includes an overview of the changes to the Medicare Hospice Regulations that have occurred.  Home care is also an important part of our educational offerings with a plethora of educational opportunities coming soon. 

In February there is the Art of ICD-10 Coding for both Home Health and Hospice.  Coding is critical for both home health and hospice.  In order to obtain proper reimbursement and meet the latest requirements, agency staff need to be up to date with their coding.  Both classes are great as refreshers for seasoned staff and for new staff just starting to code.  

Then there is the Home Care Manager Certificate Program and the Hospice Manager Certificate Program – both in Las Vegas. These programs are a must for front line managers on up to agency administrators. The Home Care Manager Certificate Program has modules for both Private Duty and Medicare Certified tracks.  I am dating myself, but I attended the second Home Care Manager Certificate Program which CAHSAH held in March 1993 in Lake Arrowhead.  It was an experience I will always remember, and I came away with a lot of new knowledge.  The programs have grown and expanded over the years, and I would highly recommend everyone who has not attended to think about registering.  You will not be sorry. 

And then we have our Annual Conference and Expo in Rancho Mirage in May.  The Annual Conference is always a can’t-miss event.  There will be exceptional educational sessions, and vendor booths.  The Annual Conference is also a great way to network with your colleagues. So sign up early to save your spot. 

All of CAHSAH programs are always exceptional and are great learning experiences.  And most do provide continuing education units.  Start 2025 off right by registering for these CAHSAH events. CAHSAH does have exciting things happening in 2025 – so mark your calendars.
